Senior Leadership Children's Literacy Program: The goal of this program is to provide intergenerational partnering between
Orange seniors and fifth and sixth grade students of Orange schools. This would take place at the Senior Center, the Case
Memorial Library, Silverbrook, Laurel Estates, or a senior's home. Date and time would be decided upon by participants. It would
be after school or possibly Sat. or Sun. The student will read to the senior or play games such as Scrabble, Monopoly, Crosswords,
etc. The visit could last for an hour or length of time decided upon by both participants. What an enjoyable way to spend some
time - sharing the enthusiasm of a child! This could be a very rewarding experience. It will encourage the child to read while
also sharing time and interests with an older person. If you are interested in this wonderful, satisfying project (and we hope you
will be) please call the Senior Center, 203-891-4784, or Louisa, 203-795-9030.
